Back to School Savings

Back to school challenges are as varied as those that go back to school.  The person may be starting school for the very first time or be starting the final year of college.  The normal challenges of returning to school include such things as getting up for school on time, finding new friends in new classes and getting used to the timeline of getting homework and all the projects completed within the given deadlines.  In many ways, these are the easy challenges that come with starting school.  But there are other challenges (as we found out this year) that come with starting school and I know that we are by no means alone.

Consider if you will starting sports for the first time.  We had physicals,  uniforms, supplies and trips that we have to pay for.  But even those weren’t as challenging as those sprains and for some of the teammates, concussions, and broken bones.  No those are things that they never tell you about when schools getting ready to start.  If this is where you’re at, consider that you should locate a good urgent care, so that you can get your child in quickly when they need to be seen.

New instruments!  This is another huge challenge for those starting in music classes.  Be it strings or band there’s an instrument that needs to be acquired.  Instruments can range from 300 to thousands.  Depending on the size and type of instruction will be the primary influence on the price of the instrument that needs to be acquired.  If you’re not sure if you child will want to play an instrument, consider the option of renting from month to month.  It’s not nearly as expensive as buying the instrument out-right, but it will still allow for your child to try instruments until they find the one that they love.

Pencils!  When I was in school, there was something that I saw over and over again.  Kids that would use their pencils until they were about 1 inch long and then goofing off, they’d put them into their ears and off to the doctor they went.  Take a moment and talk with your child about not putting pencils in their ears.  If they do, take them to an urgent care and get it removed as soon as possible.

As you can see, challenges were starting school are concerned, are varied as are the children and young adults that start as simple as getting to class on time, but can end with injuries and money!
